Quai Craft Chocolate is a labor of love, hand crafted in micro batches to preserve the quality, taste and integrity of our chocolate.The idea for Quai was inspired through a love of chocolate. After much research, conversations with family and friends, and many trials for the perfect ratio combinations, Quai Craft Chocolate was born. A delicious, quality, locally made chocolate using cocoa beans grown in Guyana.

The bean to bar initiative at Quai uses the highest quality cocoa beans grown in Hosororo Hill, Barima-Waini region. Our cocoa is sourced directly from the Blue Flame Women's Group, a collective of smallholder farmers who use traditional cultivation methods to produce premium beans in fertile soil and ideal conditions. The group is committed to empowering women in the local community, providing them with the skills and resources needed to process the raw cocoa and generate a sustainable income.

The Artisianal Chocolate Maker Behind Quai Chocolates

Guyanese Born. French Trained.


Hi! My name is Naiya and I am the founder of Quai Craft Chocolate.I have a degree in Chemistry from the University of Toronto and a diploma in cuisine and pastry from Gastronomicom International Culinary Academy in France. On returning from culinary school, I opened Scrumptious Sweets and Treats, a dessert catering company that allows me to display my creativity as a chef de patisserie by making beautiful, delicate European desserts with a tropical flair. I took a break from my dessert catering business when my daughter was born which gave me the opportunity to explore what I truly wanted to do- create a premium, locally made chocolate with cocoa beans grown in Guyana.Quai Craft Chocolate is my passion project based on a love for all things sweet, science and creativity. As such, I am involved in all aspects of Quai, including but not limited to- developing flavor profiles, making the chocolates, hand wrapping the individual bars, and drawing and creating the eye catching labels for the packaging. My goal is for Quai to stand amongst the best craft chocolates available regionally and internationally.I hope you enjoy the deliciousness that is Quai Craft Chocolate as much as I do!
